What's that shoe doing down there?

Hello and Welcome.

Levi, when placed in a play pen likes to throw his toys out and then hang like Kilroy on the rail to stare at the unreachable items. Hang in there, it'll make sense.

So we planned a trip to the zoo with great grandfather Phil "Pops" and wife Barb, grandfather Garrett "Grey Pa" and the Lovely Ms Lee, her daughter Chelsea, father Brandin and beautiful wife Kayla, and the greatest grandson of all time Levi.

Levi wore his dinosaur shoes, which turned out to be a bad idea because he knows how to kick them off at will. So the game became, the first one to see the shoe on the ground got a point.

We decided to take the guided tour and sit on the top of the bus. As we were getting settled Grey Pa took Levi while his parents settled in. Levi kicked his shoe off during this transition, which caught my eye as it hit the roof of the bus. As we looked to pick up the shoe we couldn't find it. Chelsea said in a very cavalier manor, "Is that his shoe?" while pointing out beyond the confines of the bus. I turned toward her pointing and saw some 15 feet below me and across the parking way a little blue shoe, with both my hands on the rail I felt like putting my mouth on the bar to mimic Levi's normal ritual of looking at his discarded trophies unable to retrieve them.

After solicitation of some friendly park employees, the shoe was thrown back up to the top of the bus and placed back on Levi's foot to be available for future discards.

The shoe seems rather close but that's due to the 100mm lens I was using at the time.

Make a great day, we did. 8-)

Will a parent please step up?

Hello and Welcome.

Levi visited with Great Grandpa Phil today, who in anticipation of Levi's visit made him a special cookie. The cookie and child combo would normally not be an issue of concern but when given at 7 o'clock at night with bed time just around the corner? This situation was screaming for an adult to step forward and say, "What are you people thinking?" We apparently had no adults among us.

One big chocolate chip cookie, made with all the love and good intentions in the world, in the hands of the most energy efficient vessel alive.

He looks so innocent doesn't he?

Shortly after this 6 inch chocolate chip treasure of 1500 calories was devoured, the fun began. The cats ran away, the laps began and the absent minded parents began to realize what they had allowed to happen.

With the exception of the oldest members of the family who, as you remember provided the source of energy, were able to escape to the serenity of their room and get a full nights sleep, the rest of the household was finally allowed to go to sleep around midnight when the last calorie was exhausted. This all the night before a trip to the zoo.
