Levi's first Halloween - 138

Hello and Welcome.

Today I was busy. So busy I forgot all that I did and then erased half of my day. Doh!!! I set up the bird sanctuary and spent a good portion of the day photographing birds, working frames and pictures, photographing birds, etc.

I knew Levi was going to get dressed up as a Gru minion, so I decided to test my flash. After a few test shots. I went to the menu and hit format, which is what I do before I go shoot a new subject, but that's usually after I download whatever's on the disc. I forgot to download ALL my bird photos and just vaporized them. Oh well!!

I got a better subject tonight. Levi!!!

Gone to the birds. - 137

Hello and Welcome.

Day 137 of my 365 Day, give or take, photography journey.

Today, I had a great time preparing my mini bird sanctuary.

My original provisions were starting to impair my ability to photograph the birds that visited our yard. Water and grass tend to like each other. The grass was growing tall around my photography area and the water was getting too grassy to please the birds.

So after my chores, I started to build a new sanctuary. One aimed at pleasing all passers by, passing birds that is.

First the water source: Shallow dish among an aesthetically pleasing background, free of over growth and water contaminants.

A nice or sorta nice porcelain dish a top some riverbed rocks with a dripping hose. Perfect!!! And a dish of wild bird seed positioned on a stump.

Not a couple minutes later.

A white crowned sparrow came to visit.

But I wasn't done yet.

I set up a suet board for the chickadee's and nuthatches, along with a sunflower feeder for the finches.

I have provisions for a hummingbird feeder and a thistle feeder ready to go up tomorrow or so.

Hopefully in the next couple days I'll have a variety of birds to show you.

Double Take - 136

Hello and Welcome!

As I was leaving to get my truck worked on today, I saw a bicyclist who caught my eye. My first thought when seeing this individual, was of Einstein and his disheveled grey hair riding a bike.

I had to capture this man and his bike. As he got closer my thoughts of him began to change. I could now see this man normally riding a Harley, while at this moment getting some exercise, on a bike that is probably taken care as much as his, my imaginative, Harley.

You can see by his expression he's asking himself, "What is this guy taking my photo?" I told him as he passed he had too much character and I had to capture it. He smiled and laughed as he road past me.

Pulled out my trumpet today - 135

Hello and Welcome.

I pulled out my trumpet to play a little, and do I mean a little. My lips lasted about 1 and a half songs. They're out of shape. The lips are just like any other muscle on the body. If they aren't used they get soft and flabby, which is good for kissing but bad for playing the trumpet.

Since my lip was dead I pulled out the camera.

On the trail to Heart Rock - 132

Hello and Welcome.

I've fallen off the consistency band wagon. I haven't blogged in so long. This is suppose to be "day 132" of my 365 day photography journey. Oops!

It's very difficult to think of things to photograph everyday.

Today we, Brandin, Kayla, Lee and myself, took a trip up to heart rock. Lee's first visit. It was a fun trip.

I didn't photograph heart rock because someone marked the rocks up with what I'm hoping was just charcoal. It didn't look very nice.

But...!!! It's important to enjoy to journey, in this case it was the trip back to the truck.
